Your Mentor

Hello, I am Janett Levien. I am the founder of Progressions. Pix of Dr janett Levien

With qualifications and extensive experience in organisational development and change, education and personal coaching, as well as having developed and run several small businesses and worked in senior positions in larger institutions, I have an ideal background to mentor and guide people from a wide range of backgrounds and especially those in middle and front line management.
I have a profound belief in the potential of all human beings.

My professional qualifications are:

A Bachelor of Arts majoring in psychology and sociology.
A Master of Arts (1st class honours) in sociology.
A Doctorate (PhD). The focus of my thesis was organisational change and development in terms of the experience and behaviour of the management, staff and clients of a major institution undergoing transformation.

I am a member of the International Coach Federation.

And the New Zealand Assocation of Training and Devcelopment NZATD

Relevant experience:
Beginning as a temporary, part time tutor I made my way up through the ranks to become Head of a University Department.

For two years, I worked in social, political and market research in a commercial research company where I developed, trained and managed the field work team as well as leading several major research projects.

I was a supervisor for the Department of Statistics Census 1989, taking a leading role in setting up, staffing, training, and managing a Census office.
As Director of an international language school in New Zealand I took the school from start up (3 staff and 9 students!) to a vital and successful business (over 500 students and 30 staff) in under two years.
As a business consultant, I have worked on organisational develop and restructuring with several medium to large businesses.

I have been a Consultant to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) Hong Kong, and the Japanese Consulate, Auckland.

I have also established and run three small businesses.
